Austin jobless rate drops to 5.5 percent

A rebound in construction jobs, the strength of local startups and expansion of outside businesses in Central Texas helped knock Austin's unemployment rate down to 5.5 percent in April the first time the jobless rate has dipped below the 6 percent mark since December 2008.

After all the hype, Facebook's first day as a public company ended where it began. In its much-anticipated debut on the Nasdaq Stock Market, Facebook's stock closed Friday at $38.23, up 23 cents.

Postal Service completes sale of downtown Austin station
